Stay Connected
It’s easy to reach out to members. Once you have added a member to your contacts by using the Add Contact tab (click on My Contacts on the second menu bar at the top of the page):
· send the member an email by clicking on the Send Message tab,
· save her/him in your favorites folder (click on Favorite tab), and
· introduce the member to another one of your contacts.
Once a member becomes one of your contacts, you can see who their contacts are and easily network among them. Up to 10 members can even be designated as “favorites” so you can network even faster.
Invite your peers and colleagues to join in by clicking on My Messages on the second menu bar of the home page. Click on the New Invitation tab and invite as many people as you want to join. In the invitation message box you can even direct them to an article, community, or forum.
Connect and Broaden Your Network
Search for members using information such as their first and last name, or business information such as their title and company by clicking on Member Search on the second menu bar at the top of the page.
You can even search all members from one company, or by other fields such as city, with just a click.
Find out what organizations and networks a member belongs to, what expertise the member has, the articles and blogs he or she has posted, and review the member’s contact information such as telephone number, email, and business information by clicking on the member’s name or the Contact Data tab.
Invite the member to join your contacts by using the My Message menu (second bar at the top of the page). Or send a message to a contact, or introduce members to each other by clicking on the appropriate link.
Track Your Invitations and Contacts
Monitor messages and invitations you send and messages that you receive by clicking on My Tools on the second menu bar at the top of the page. You can also monitor who has accepted invitations to connect with you and who wants you to join their network.
2. Interact With Peers
Participate in Forums
Click on forums on the upper tab on the home page. Click on the forum of your choice, or start another by selecting the Create New Topic link. Click on Delete, Edit, Answer, Quote and Forward to personalize your forum response.
Wikis
You can also contribute to wikis by clicking on the wiki tab on the upper menu on the home page. Read articles divided alphabetically, by category, or randomly by clicking on links under wikis. To edit a wiki, click on the wiki topic where you’d like to contribute. Click on Edit Story Simple tab. Click on Edit Article tab. Select a wiki category from the drop down menu to add the wiki into specific communities. Click Add. Click Save.
To add a wiki, click the wiki tab on the upper menu on the home page. Type in the name of the wiki you are looking to add in the search box. The system will search to see if there are wikis with the same name.
If the system doesn’t find anything, you will get a message that an article with this name does not exist. Click on the link of the blog you want to create, which will be highlighted in red text. Begin writing your wiki. Select a wiki category. Click Add to include your wiki in specific communities. Click Save.
Communities
By joining one of the 13 communities, such as health care, brokers, and work/life balance, you can quickly read content specific to your specialty. Navigate directly to your community and you’ll find relevant articles, blogs, forums, web casts, wikis, and press releases.
Access communities on the top menu bar and the left side. Feel free to participate in as many communities as you’d like.
Members’ Lounge
Interact with members by participating in the members’ lounge. Scroll down to the far right of the screen and click on Members’ Lounge. If you aren’t a member of one of the groups yet, click on the link under the title and join one or more of the groups.
Share your thoughts, ideas, and documents with members by clicking on tabs such as forums, stories, blogs, members, and newsletters. You can also read new forum messages and new stories that are related to your members’ lounge.
Blogs
Click on the Blogs main tab on the upper menu at the top of the page. Here, you can read blogs and create one by writing in the user-friendly content management system. Make sure you read our blog criteria for instructions and restrictions (inappropriate blogs will be deleted).
3. Find and Add Product and Service Announcements
Keep up with the rapidly-changing industry. Twice a week a round-up of industry innovations are covered in the News Briefs and Innovations departments found on the left navigation. Find out what new products and services your competitors are offering. You’ll also find industry news reports about selected sources. Or, add press releases about the latest news in your company. Stay tuned!
4. Give Your Feedback
Rate
You’re encouraged to vote on content. This allows others in the community to quickly assess the value of an article, case study, blog, or any other content. It also ensures that the most helpful content is the most popular. The more stars you have, the more valuable the community finds your content.
Rate each story by clicking on the small menu with five stars, located below the article’s headline on the right. You can rate the article by clicking on one, two, three, four or five stars, with five stars the highest rating an article can receive.
Comment
Disagree with an author? Agree? Have an example? Leave your comments about content by clicking on the comments link comments just above the star menu. Add your comments in the empty field and click on preview, save, or cancel.
5. Stay Up-to-Date With Informative Content Found Only on BCSolutionsMag.com
Use this website to read articles written by industry experts. Click on the Communities tab on the first menu bar on the top of the page. Select from among 13 communities to read specific editorial content geared toward that community. Or, click on the text near the magazine issue on the top left corner of BCSolutionsMag.com. Choose from various stories in different departments and sections to read from the magazine.
6. Share research.
CDHCSolutionsMag.com allows you to share research that you create such as white papers, case studies and best practices. Send your research to Web Content Manager Tenisha Mercer at tmercer[at]fieldmedia.com. We’ll post it for you.
