Aon Consulting relaunches its administration services

Aon Consulting, a leading pension, benefits and HR consulting firm, today announces the relaunch of its administration team, with the target of becoming the provider of choice for clients in the British private sector by 2012.

Led by managing director Stuart Heatley, Aon has reshaped its administration services to concentrate on developing a high quality and value-led service. A new client relationship management (CRM) unit, led by Ian Bloxham, has been created to underline its commitment to forging closer working partnerships with clients. In addition, Colin Hamilton, commercial director, will lead a new pensions administration commercial team, which has been set up in order to achieve its ambitious long-term growth targets.

Aon’s long-term commitment to providing the highest standard of service is highlighted by its £10 million investment in new technology, including the market-leading aquila administrator operating platform. In addition, a further £1 million investment was recently made in additional functionality, with a further £0.5 million pledged this year.

Stuart Heatley, managing director, administration, said: “We have spent a long time getting the building blocks in place, focusing on financial sustainability and delivering on promises to our clients, to set us up for what will be a long-term journey. The aim of our journey is to deliver a service that is dictated by our clients and their scheme members, not by the industry’s limitations. To that end, we are not only talking to trustees, pensions managers and scheme members about the service they want, but actively involving them in service development focus groups and member surveys.”

The pensions administration team, which accounts for over a third of Aon Consulting’s UK turnover, has ambitious growth plans and will widen its new business scope to include large pension schemes that require a specialist administration provider, including large in-house schemes.

Colin Hamilton, commercial director, administration, said: “We aim to stand out from the competition by offering trustees a different approach to service delivery, going above and beyond accepted industry standards and putting the member at the heart of everything we do. We will be spending more time developing our services in line with the market to ensure that service developments and improvements respond to member needs. Our member-focused approach to performance measurement, for example, is unique.”
